THE FABULOUS FEAST OF PENTECOST

Jesus said: "He that believeth on me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water". But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified (St. Jn.7:38-39). In the KJ version, the word given is in italics, meaning it was added for clarity. I like it just fine with the word "given" omitted. FOR THE HOLY GHOST WAS NOT YET---BECAUSE JESUS WAS NOT YET GLORIFIED! To understand Pentecost, we must realize the entire paradigm is changing! After Resurrection the man Jesus is glorified into Holy Ghost!  Let common sense kick in; when Jesus said it's expedient for me to go away, so the Holy Ghost can come, it's a sure sign of One-God! Lo I Am with you always!

In the account of the "first creation", God formed a dust man from the ground, breathed into his nostrils. The Apostle Paul adds: "the first man is of the earth, earthy". Here's the revelation; Just as God breathed the first time, Jesus is about to breath a second time! In John's Gospel Jesus makes an appearance in His Glorified Body, and says: "as my Father has sent me, even so send I you". Commissioned by the Father, Jesus breathed on the nucleus of a newly created Spiritual Church (His disciples)! RECEIVE YE THE HOLY GHOST!  Here's the revelation; In the OT God breathed on the natural man and he became a living soul. In the New Testament, Jesus breathed on His disciples and created a Living Spiritual Man!    What a Mighty God we serve!

Thank God on that glorious day of Pentecost, just as the dove lighted on Jesus and remained, now the Holy Ghost permanently indwells the believer who diligently cares to receive Him. "And when they came thither to the hill, behold a company of prophets met him, and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them" Just for a while King Saul is enjoying true Spirit. However, later on we're told the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul. We see the same thing with Samson's power, a cycle of coming and going! Pentecost changes all that; Jesus proclaimed for he that dwelleth with you (old covenant) shall be in you that's (new covenant). Pentecost is not a denomination, but an historical event which birthed the Living Church of Jesus!

In closing, I will quote the Prophet Malachi: "...and the Lord whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in:..." Notice the key-word "suddenly"; "And there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting". Here's the revelation; the "suddenly" of Malachi's prophecy, is fulfilled in the "suddenly" on the "day of pentecost" The Lord(meaning master and owner) suddenly came to His brand new Temple, made of "lively stones"! The messenger of the covenant came bearing a "covenant gift" the indwelling of His Spirit! Involving the creation of a "new heart", "new tongues", a "new agreement", "new wine", a "new creation", and a "new and living way"!
