"But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ..."  We hear much talk about setting goals and that's good. But for those pursuing a higher calling and a deeper relationship with Jesus, these truths are vital!  I'm convinced to grow in God's grace, is to understand the product of God's grace that grants us unmerited favor and divine strength is the "anointing" of the Holy Ghost! The anointing changes lives, it alone can change weakness into strength. Psalms 84:7: Declares everyone of them in Zion appear before God and are changed from strength to strength!  It is from strength to strength, from faith to faith, and from glory to glory! Anointing changes human power into God power, "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power (dunamis : dynamic miracle working power) may be of God and not of us"(II Cor.4:7).

Effective grace has many companions, but none so necessary as God's Anointing. Without these two we are limited to a natural lifestyle trapped in Adam, and in Adam all die! Grace and anointing are not just for preachers, but are available to all believers! "And he shall give you another Comforter that he may abide with you forever"(St.Jn. 14:16). He abides forever and on and on it goes; "But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him"(IJn.2:27). Him in you and you in him, the secret of growing!

Yes, He will give us another Comforter that will abide with us FOREVER!  In putting "spiritual knowledge" to work, here is some things we need to see. The Greek word for "comforter" is "paracletos" and has many relatives. The definition for comforter in our dictionary is a "warm quilt"  and that is powerful enough to preach a while, but comforter in English has not many relatives. Here are some relatives for "paracletos": Advocate, Champion, Supporter, Spokesman, Campaigner, Fighter, Crusader and Apostle!  In the old testament, God told Moses to tell his foes when they ask the name of the one who sent him, "I Am that I Am" The God of your fathers Abraham Isaac and Jacob hath sent me unto you this is my name forever and my memorial unto all generations"(Exo. 3:14). A memorial is something established as a constant reminder of a particular event. I'm convinced that a constant reminder to you and I of the "Great I Am" is the indwelling of the Holy Ghost who is whatever we need Him to be!

Jesus said unto them verily, verily,I say unto you before Abraham was "I Am"(St.Jn.8:58). Here's the revelation; in putting the words of Moses and Jesus together we find the "I Am that I Am" was past, present and future! Scholars say: the phrase can also be translated "I will become what I will become"! The "I Am" and the Holy Ghost FOREVER, says the Lord! What a mighty God! "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you"(St.Jn.14:26). God's knowledge comes from God's Teacher which truly should be every born-again Saint's Teacher! If any man lacks knowledge let him ask God who is generous beyond measure. As we grow older we find how precious our memory really is, we can have a sound Holy Ghost memory, but it must be accompanied by Anointing!

In-Christ Always  Elmer Hart
