As a hobby I wanted an apple orchard with early, mid-season and late apples which would supply us from July through October. One day as I was fussing with these apple trees and asking myself why I'm taking such pains and am so obsessed in doing it right, suddenly the Holy Ghost answered my mind's question. The reply was; The apple tree is a type of Jesus! Upon hearing that my perspective enlarged and I began learning many Spiritual Truths. "As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. He brought me to the banqueting house and his banner over me was love"(Song of Sol. 2:2-4)

Long before idolatry and lost wisdom took hold of Solomon with his many wives and concubines, there is a great story we need to experience! This is a beautiful story of "first love" we could also say "soul mates". Solomon's Hebrew name is the masculine form of Peace, while Shulamite (his beloved bride) is the feminine form of Peace. Together they become "perfect peace". In type this is Jesus and His True Church the Bride of Christ! Jesus declared to His Chosen My Peace will I give to you different than any other peace of any kind! We find this glorious experience as we sit under the shade of the apple tree and with great delight we smell His sweet smelling fragrance. We taste the sweetness of the fruit and experience the Love of Jesus in a life changing way! Though He holds the whole world in his hands, by His Omnipresence He uniquely fills each of His Bride, and under His apple tree of relationship, we come into a "first love" experience with our beloved !  First Love lets me know I'm special, I'm His and He's mine!  My burdens are gone, my insecurities are gone, my blemishes don't seem to matter, for all I think about is Jesus!

"Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green"(Song of Sol. 1:16).  Here's the revelation; green is the color of life in our love relationship with Jesus, it means the bed (our place of rest and reproduction) is full of glorious life!  "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life" (I Jn.5:12). There's much to say about the color green! As we come underneath the apple tree can you hear the words of Psalmist David? "He maketh me to lie down in green pastures...", the grass is tall enough and beautiful enough under this spiritual apple tree to lie down in peaceful rest and stare up into the greenness of His Leaves! With His life and love all around, we get more revelation: "The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a Cedar in Lebanon"(Psalms 92:12). These trees are evergreen year round and this is a great revelation of the truth of everlasting undying life! In the dead of winter just look around, you will see all kinds of dead dried up trees with no leaves, only some ugly brown residue. Then somewhere in your view you will see something green! An evergreen pine stands tall and straight in the midst of the snow covered ground. God's way of telling us to never be discouraged, the life of God that is in us can never be extinguished!

"Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree:...(song of Sol.(8:5)  I hope you can see what I'm trying to say. Under the apple tree is a place of one on one relationship. Only by learning to lean on our beloved can we deal with the wilderness of testing, confusion and religious tradition. Under that tree we can be raised, in other words elevated to a place high enough to see by the Spirit and not be fooled by flesh. Another definition of raised from the Strong's concordance is to have your eyes opened away with the natural vision and opened to the Spirit. We can only mature in Christ if we spend time with Him and learn His voice. "...Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice (St.Jn.18:37).
