To become mature in the things of the Kingdom, it is vital we learn from the past. "While it is said Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation".(Heb.3:15)  The provocation refers to the forty years of rebellion during the Children of Israel's journey towards the "promise land". Strong's Concordance says of provoke; to provoke to grief and anger by exasperation and irritation. We must examine their shortcomings; they murmured and complained, their carnal minds would not be silenced, they would not submit to Moses therefore unbelief became their portion. THEY WERE NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER IN !

Allow this truth to unfold and transform from the "church in the wilderness" (Acts 7:38) to the Church of Jesus Christ. What the Patriarchs of the old testament called the "promise land" the book of Hebrews calls the "Rest of God". The finished product of the wilderness journey would have been glorious Rest. Here's the revelation; the finished work of Jesus Christ is also a Glorious Rest !  "There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his".(Heb. 4:9-10) The whole truth is this as Jesus proclaimed "it is finished"  on the cross He brought into existence a "Perfected Rest" for His True Church ! Now we who are dead with Him, cease from our own "dead works" and enter into His "living works" of resurrection !

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new"(II Cor.5:17)  The only way for all things to become new is to completely overcome disobedience and understand we too must Enter In ! Let's look at a powerful comparison, in the OT Moses told the people; "Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land , which I sware to give unto your fathers".(Duet.1:35)  Jesus the Living Word, who bought redemption from this very type of evil, said this: "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (St.Jn.3:3)  To see is to believe and understand. A born-again mind set is to desire an entrance into God's light while turning away from an evil-generation of murmuring, the carnal way of thinking, and our own worst enemy of unbelief. And then comes the hard part we must Enter In !

Moses got even stronger with his rebuke to the disobedient; "Your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness..." (Num.14:29) "Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein," (Duet.14:30)  They were not allowed to see nor enter ! Here's the fullness of the redemption of Jesus: "...Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." (St. Jn.3:5) To see is a beginning and is a work of repentance from an evil mindset, to being transferred from darkness into His marvelous light! However, to enter by definition is to penetrate, pierce and totally possess.Jesus' mandate to enter in requires the washing of the water of the Word and to build a relationship with the Holy Ghost (water and Spirit).

"Wherefore the rather, brethren give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (IIPet. 1:10-11)  We can't just peep in, we must march whole-heartily through the abundant entrance into the very nature of the Word and Spirit, Christ Himself! This brings dominion over the "lower nature" and fulfills this scripture: "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you REST." (Matt.11:28)
