The Fire Of God

Beginning at the burning bush Moses encounters the "fire of God". This fire is so different that Moses said "I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt".(Exo.3:3)   It was a fire he couldn't understand it's a fire of God's Holy Presence and it housed the angel of God as a flame of fire!  The voice of God was heard from its midst, and Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.(Exo.3:6)  Moses compares God as the fire, and the fire as God, He goes on to say:"For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God".(Duet.4:24) What was very distinct with God's fire, was the fact that the bush burned but was not destroyed. Likewise God's consuming fire will not destroy his chosen, but his fire represents a fiery passion to burn within: Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serve !

Let's watch as the Fire of God's Presence grows from a "burning bush" into a fire that consumes an entire mountain! "And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring (consuming) fire on the top of the Mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.".(Exo.24:17)  As Moses was dying he gives an historical wrap-up concerning the fire of God on Mt. Sinai. "And he said, The Lord came from Sinai, and rose up (like the sun) from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them".(Duet.33:2)  The light of His glory and fiery presence reflected from mountain top to mountain top. Ten thousand saints represent an escort of Holiness, and any one even close to this sight could see God was dispensing many different and wonderful aspects of Himself : fire, lightning, thunder, tempest, sound of a trumpet, His mighty voice, and a brightness so awesome that Moses said: "I Exceedingly Fear and Quake"!!  All this pageantry is to usher in "God's Fiery Law" : Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serve !

Consider the mission of Jesus and the urgency He felt to accomplish His goal. "I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled"? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished ! Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth ? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided three against two and two against three."(Luke12:49-52) From the burning bush to the burning mountain, now the life of Jesus will absolutely set the earth on fire ! No wonder scripture says: "Our God is a Consuming Fire". Jesus said I won't be straitened until it's done, meaning He too is totally consumed with a "fiery passion" and a oneness with the Father's will to establish His "baptism of fire" all over the earth!

His fire is a high calling to a walk of Spirit, a walk of purification in His Holy Presence. It's a walk of His judgement which brings in His righteousness and establishes the manifest power of God: WHAT A MIGHTY GOD !!

Nothing can stop the spreading of this fire, Jesus told His disciples; He must go away in order for another Comforter to come: "And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgement because the prince of this world is judged".(St. Jn.16:8-11) Strong's Concordance tells us the word "reprove" can also mean convince and also convict. Jesus "baptism of fire" convinced the entire world, sin is judged, conviction of sin cannot be disputed both by believers and non-believers. Righteousness has covered multitudes by witness of the Spirit and testimony of those who saw resurrection power escort Jesus back to Heaven "alive and well" !! Also the "prince of this world" was rendered powerless as the Holy Ghost abides personally in the hearts of believers. Here's blessed assurance; "...For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil". ( I Jn.3:8)

Sin is judged, and that's a fact, now consider the words of Jesus : "I have not come to give the earth peace, but rather division". Let's examine the area of division; there is five in "one house", three against two and two against three. The life of Jesus confused the entire nations of Israel and Judah, just like the "civil war" in our own country, brothers were divided and fought against each other. This prophecy of Jesus could not be disputed back then , neither can it be disputed in our time. In our time look not at the natural, but the spiritual. "One House" speaks of the House of God, one is a sacred number which cannot be divided. It is our number of unity and strength. Paul taught it as a"great house" full of many vessels some of honor and some of dishonor. Today's religious arena is purposely designed by Jesus' own prophecy to suffer division unless you are "born again" and led by the Holy Ghost !! In closing, consider the sacredness of the numbers; five is the number for grace, the house of grace is divided. Three is the number of resurrection, many divisions here. Two is the number of witness, by the mouth of two witnesses let truth be established, many divisions here. Thank God in the true church, the "baptism of fire" is working on the Remnant to know the Lord outside religion.
