To further understand the uniqueness of the Bride of Christ, we must understand the story of Genesis, as Eliezer the servant of Abraham, is sent to choose a bride for Isaac. Note the importance of the father (Abraham), the son (Isaac), the servant (Eliezer a type of the Holy Ghost), and Rebekah , a bride for the son.

It is clear that Eliezer has the responsibility of choosing the bride, he was Abraham's eldest servant who ruled over all that he had. He is the New Testament type of the Holy Ghost given on the day of Pentecost. Apostle John says it this way: "Howbeit when he, the spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, (from His Father) that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come." (St. Jn. 16:13) The true Bride of Christ now has and will always have an endeared relationship with the spirit of truth, she places the love of the truth above all things. His bride is sealed by her relationship to the Spirit, and is baptized into Christ, making her part of a "mystical and spiritual"  "Israel of God" by faith.

"For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named." (Eph. 3:14-15)  The word for family, in the above verse, is the greek word "patria" and it's truest meaning is this: Our patriarch Abraham represents the father, and the complete family consists of the "twelve tribes of Israel" In other words, the entire family sprang from one and the same original seed. This is the bloodline, and represents the "Household of Faith".  The great revelation is this: if we are baptized into Christ by the Holy Ghost, then we too are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. ( see Gal. 3:29)  Therefore, having a relationship with the Holy Ghost, is not optional but to be chosen as a part of the Bride of Christ, it is mandatory!!

"And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put , I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh: (this is the sacred organ when dealing with genealogy)  and I will make thee swear by the Lord, the God of heaven, and the God of earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites,

among whom I dwell: But thou shalt go unto my country and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac."(Gen.24:2-4) The son Isaac is a type of the son Jesus. Abraham's "old age wish" was that Isaac would not marry mixed seed of the Canaanites, spiritually showing; the bride will not come from the Gentile Nations. Paul's teaching in Romans, introduces us to the true Jew."For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly, neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men but of God."(Rom.2:28-29)

A certificate of birth is no longer the evidence of the "Israel of God", the spirit moves into our heart, breaks it, circumcises it, makes it over new and joins it to Christ's heart. "But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit."( I Cor.6:17) "Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved".Eph1:5-6

The challenge is to see ourselves "in Christ": "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:..."  We understand our new identity as old things pass away and all things become new and clear. With this newness we now understand Eph.1:4, "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,..." Just as Adam's bride was taken out of a portion of his side; there is a remnant that from the foundation of the world has been in Christ, chosen and without blame, and she shall come forth out of Christ ( separated from the body) to shine as The Bride of Christ!!

In-Christ Always Elmer Hart
