Much truth comes alive as we compare the similarities of Enoch (son of Jared) and Jesus our savior.Let's explore three meanings of Enoch's name; Teacher, Dedicated, and Initiated, Both Jesus and Enoch understood their Father's will was much more important than their own. Enoch walked with God, talked with God, and had the testimony that he pleased God. Although there is not an abundance of scripture concerning Enoch, this is enough to show us both Enoch and Jesus are wonderful teachers. They both had the ability to enter the divine presence of God apart from physical death. We as "sons of God" need to follow their lead with diligence!!  As for Jesus, Nicodemus says it best: "...Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him." ( St. Jn.3-2) The Apostle Paul writes in (1Cor. 4-15): "For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel". As teachers, Enoch and Jesus go beyond just instructing us, but they take us into a higher realm of truth which God is now revealing unto his "elect". "But when the Comforter is come , whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of Truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me".(St. Jn. 15-26)  Jesus is The Spirit of Truth, and as God's pattern he became Truth personified and showed to us the Way, the Truth, and the Life!  Thank You Jesus!

Enoch also represents the Spirit of Truth, as a "Dedicated Teacher"  The book of Jude tells us : "And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints". ( Jude vs.14) Why the seventh from Adam ?? Enoch was removed by genealogy seven sons from Adam, we know Paul termed Adam as "earthy",he is also a type of the "old man of sin". Seven being God's heavenly number of perfection and maturity, spiritually shows us Enoch had moved as far as he could from the "earth-man" and was now living the spirit life as God intended. He lived and moved and had his being in pure spirit. Also , as the scripture shows, he had mastered his tongue. He prophesied (to speak under the influence of Spirit) , declaring; "the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints", this of course, was at a time when ten thousand saints were not even available. What a spiritual gift, to see into the future as Enoch did!

Finally Enoch's name means "initiated" and points to the disciplined lifestyle he led. In the natural there are special groups or clubs which in order to be a member requires an initiation. Likewise, God has an elect group called "the sons of God" and to be in this group an initiation is also required. Enoch's testimony pleased God and the scripture declares he was translated, for God took him. "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost".(Acts 2-38)  I would suggest for your consideration, the Real Holy Ghost deposited on the inside is the initiation that inducts you into the "elect of God". Fulfilling type and shadow, "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:"(Col.1-13) Translated means literally; to be physically whisked from one place into another. For us it is out of darkness into His marvelous LIGHT. "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin".(1Jn.1-7)

In closing, salvation is for whosoever will believe. The best definition for salvation is: "to be rescued from sin and death" Here's the revelation; as "the sons of God" come into maturity ours is beyond salvation, thank God for salvation, but as Sons, and joint heirs with Jesus, we share in "inheritance". Our Spiritual Inheritance is the Nature and Glory (manifest presence of God), along with the same Power Adam had with God Before the fall. "He that overcometh shall inherit all things new. and I will be his God, and he shall be my son."(Rev.21-7)  What an honor!
