As we look back even to our Native Americans, and watch the old movies about them, I can't help but believe they experienced some of the Spirit of the Lord as they reverenced fire, wind and water. We know these are certainly symbols of the Holy Ghost. We can also learn of the Spirit by comparing natural things to spiritual things. I have found in dealing with different people, the less spiritual a person is, the less they want to hear or talk about Bible Symbolism. The truth is, understanding is worth seeking from all angles. My experience with my own closed mind was frustration and confusion as to what God was really saying. Understanding Biblical symbolism is a step in the right direction.

As Jesus stepped out of the river Jordan and the "dove" (a symbol of pureness, gentleness, and sacrifice) landed on Him, at this time the scripture says: "the heavens were opened." So from experience I can say the "wrestling" between you and the Holy Spirit is for ones own benefit to change a closed mind into a dimension where the "Heavens are Opened." It is important to remember John the Revelator could have never experienced the Throne of God, without an opening into the heavens. We have a wonderful invitation: "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."(Heb. 4:16) The truth is: we must get the heavens opened in order to approach His throne.

Another symbol for the Spirit (the wind), is used in Matthew 24, "...to gather together his elect, from the four winds..." A definite connection between the four winds and God's elect. Strong's Concordance says of "elect" by implication it refers to "favorites." God's favorites love His Spirit and want a relationship with Him, even though the elect must become acquainted with the "winds of God." "Awake, O north wind; and come thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out..."(Sol.4:16) The elect represent " the Garden of the Lord" Our Lord wants the spices of His Garden to blow beyond the walls of church, and so He sends the four winds to accomplish His will. The north wind is a cold harsh wind; it is very intense and speaks to us of the dealings of God in our life in the area of conviction. We feel God's conviction when He wants our undivided attention and is demanding obedience from His elect. In contrast, God sends the south wind when our soul needs restored and we need comforted. Now we will mention the east and west winds, a careful study of the east wind shows us it is a wind of judgment, in the lives of God's elect not all judgment is in our future. God's judgment is in the past, the present and in the future. If you think back I'm sure you can recall God's judgment in your past as we have all had to face consequences for our actions. The east wind is a wind of correction and maturity. Finally there is the west wind, this is the one we all like, and it is the wind that represents God's blessings. The blessings of the Lord will simply overtake us if we line up with the word and accept the dealings of the Spirit in our lives.

Another symbol for the Spirit is Fire; "Every mans work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward." (I Cor.3:13-14) God's elect are well acquainted with the fire. If we want our work "to abide" then we must be tested by fire. I do not want to labor in vain, but the remnant of God is praying for a lasting effectual ministry. The Spirit gave me three purposes for the fire; it speaks of passion, not long ago the Spirit begin to deal with me, that in this year of 2012 God is going to use His fire to MELT the hearts of His elect to His own heart. One mind and one purpose, to please the heart of the Father, just as Jesus' heart was melted to the heart of his Father. The second purpose of fire is to purify, any thing that is not of and by the Spirit has to go, and it shall be consumed by our God who is a consuming fire. Thirdly the fire shall transform the old nature into the new nature. "...to give unto them beauty for ashes..."(Isa.61:3) The old nature must be completely burned up, and out of these ashes and rubble of the old man, shall arise a brand new nature, which features the Fruit of the Spirit.

Another symbol for the Spirit is Water, water is simultaneous with cleansing and a clean heart is what the kingdom of God is all about. It is a vital part in bringing the things of the invisible into the realm of the visible. It should be an awakening to the fact that the old man with the Adam nature is dead and buried, and we stand resurrected with Christ. To be baptized in water is an act of faith we do publicly, and immediately I'm reminded that the righteousness of Christ is put on by faith. In short, we should be willing to cover all our bases, do what we can to build a sound foundation and then go on to deeper and better things. With the receiving of the Spirit we are immediately connected to the Fruit of the Spirit, notice the word fruit in (Gal.5:22) is singular and not plural as "fruits of the Spirit." First of all it shows unity by using the singular, they are not scattered fruits that show up here and there, but they are unified and all work together. Secondly the first one that is used (LOVE) is the primary and main focus; all the other eight fruits find their beginning and fulfillment from the first THE LOVE OF GOD.

As a part of the remnant seed, there must be a sealing of the covenant and in the Old Testament the sealing token was circumcision. However, the New Testament teaches water baptism as our token of sealing, not a circumcision of the foreskin, but now it becomes a circumcision of the heart:” In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.(Col.2:11-12) We know to be associated with the seed of Abraham in the OT,(God's natural Israel) natural circumcision was required. So likewise to be included in God's Spiritual Israel, there must be another circumcision with emphasis on the heart of a brand new inner man upon which male nor female matters not. With the coming of Jesus and a new covenant, not just males but also females are included in this sealing. Thank the Lord He is really no respecter of persons!!
