As Jesus led his disciples up the steps into an upper room, spiritually speaking, He lifted them into a higher dimension where religious language transformed into the language of one who spoke with Authority!  "Let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God, believe also in me"(St. Jn.14:1)  If you can hear it "Let Not" is more than a suggestion, but is an example of an unstoppable word of authority coming from the tongue of Jesus! It implies a change of mind where by His Spirit you make yourself stay in a state of calmness. The phrase "ye believe in God, believe also in me", needs an explanation; "believe" in Strong's Concordance implies entrusting your spiritual well being to Christ (the anointed one)! This lifestyle of faith and trust in Him calms our troubled heart!

This word "troubled" is worth examining. Isaiah said: "But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt". A troubled sea is constantly churning and agitating, but the Holy Ghost is righteousness, peace and joy the solution to the trouble! This same word was used in describing the "pool of Bethesda". Every so often the angel would trouble, agitate, disturb and stir up the pool. so you can see by this, day by day the challenges of life keep coming, our focus must be on overcoming and staying strong in the Lord! "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience"(James 1:2) Our maturity depends on this kind of patience!

Here's the revelation; Jesus our forerunner paved the way beyond the veil into the Holy of Holies, where we can passionately become part of the Throne of God! "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh"(Heb. 10:19)  Apostle John was caught up to an open door in the heavens, and saw the Throne Room. "And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal..."(Rev. 4:6)  This is symbolic language picturing a body of water so calm and so still it appears as a mirror! In the presence of the Lord we can experience this "sea of glass" and it is  more powerful than any "troubled sea" JESUS IS OUR REST!

The "troubled sea" finds no rest and casts up mire and dirt. Here's the ingredients of "miry clay", and here's the Psalm of David; "I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings"(Psms. 40:1-2) "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest"(Matt.11:28) In phase one of these verses, when out of desperation, we lay down our burden and lighten our soul, Jesus freely gives us Rest and Deliverance! However in phase two, we must find rest for our souls.(Matt.11:29) We must team up and yoke up with Jesus. We must be joined unto the Lord and become one Spirit and from then on be led by Him! That's taking His yoke upon you! Next we're told to "learn of me" It's a lifetime of learning, accompanied by a lifetime of peace and rest!
